Mija Jung is an interdisciplinary painter based in New York City. Mija embodies biometric imagery and the body’s hidden connections to the paintings of earth books. They use Abstraction not as an escape but a way of entering reality more deeply.
Mija received an MFA in painting from Rutgers University and an MFA and BFA in painting, Hongik University. Mija won the Contemporary Visual Art Award from AHL Foundation, NY, the Ellis Elizabeth Award, NJ and the MBC Grand Art Award, Korea and Takt Residency, Berlin. They exhibited at the New York Arts Center, IFAC, Robert Miller Gallery and Socrates Sculpture Park in New York; Hyundai and Kwanhoon Gallery in Seoul; Kleine Humboldt Galerie, Galerie Nord and Atelierhof Kreuzberg in Berlin.
